How to maintain electric vehicle batteries to last longer
1. Charging time should not be too long
To avoid prolonged charging, it usually takes 6 hours for electric vehicles to fully charge, and it may take slightly longer in winter. Overcharging may cause battery expansion or gas generation, and even cause battery combustion at high temperatures.
2. Avoid high temperature environments
Do not charge in high temperature environments, such as charging directly in sunlight in summer, as high temperatures can accelerate battery aging. When charging, choose a cool place and control the charging time within 8 hours.
3. Regular inspections
Regularly check the battery for any short circuits such as broken cells, softened plates, or detachment of active substances. If the battery is idle and not in use, it should be recharged once a month to maintain its healthy state.
4. Keep dry and clean
Regularly clean the battery, keep the exhaust hole unobstructed, and remove any oxides that may appear on the electrode plate. When cleaning, a little butter can be applied to the electrode plate to prevent corrosion.
5. Avoiding low power storage
It is strictly prohibited for electric vehicle batteries to be in a low battery state during storage, as a low battery state can cause lead sulfate crystals to adhere to the electrode plate, block ion channels, cause insufficient charging, and decrease battery capacity
